  1. Day 1 Upper amazon

    Departure from Tena by private car to the Ila sector (approximately 45 minutes).

    We will begin our tour on a trail that will take us to the upper region of the Amazon rainforest.

    We will hike along crystal clear rivers surrounded by primary forest, with the help of our team of native guides.

    Along the hike we will learn about the local flora and fauna, and if we are lucky we will get to see many of them.

    In the afternoon we will arrive at our first campsite.

  2. Day 2 Hiking

    7:30am Breakfast

    9:00am Travel to the Shacan sector (which means green macaws in Kichwa). There we will have the opportunity to observe a macaw saltlick.

    We will continue our trekking adventure and we will have the opportunity to observe monkeys.

    Lunch

    Our very knowledgeable guide will explain and show how our ancestor used different plants to survive. He will also show different types of traditional clothing and building methods using only what mother nature provides us.

    We will arrive at the second campsite.

  3. Day 3 Clear crystalline rivers- Hiking

    7:00 am Breakfast

    We will hike to the Ilukulin river, where we will have the opportunity to fish and bathe in its crystal-clear waters.

    All the fish we catch will be prepared for dinner.

    While we hike, we will have the opportunity to observe bear tracks, as well as monkey and tapir trails.

    Lunch

    We will continue our hike through the forest, hiking along trails that will take us to our next campsite.

    Dinner, bonfire, and night walk to observe insects and bioluminescent plants

  4. Day 4 Petroglyphs

    7:00 am Breakfast

    Hiking down our trail we will arrive at “Piedras del Sol”, a place where we will observe petroglyphs that our ancestors left for us.

    We will visit the “Sacha Warmi” lagoon, where our guide will tell us about local myths and legends.

    We will camp near the river bank.

    Dinner, bonfire and nocturnal fishing.

  5. Day 5 Lower amazon- Mirador community

    7:00 am Breakfast

    We will hike between 2 and 3 hours to our meetup location, where a car will be waiting to transport us to the lower Amazon region.

    Lunch

    After about an hour of travel we will arrive at the Puni river. There we will travel downriver on a motorized canoe to the Kichwa community “El Mirador”.

    We will arrive at the community in the afternoon.

    Interaction with local people.

    Relaxing time in hammocks

    We will sleep in rustic cabins.

    Dinner.

  6. Day 6 Lower amazon- Ahuano tour

    7:00 am Breakfast

    We will travel by motorized canoe on along the Arajuno river, where we will participate in the following activities:

    -Making artisanal chocolate with a local family

    -Tubing

    -Visit to a monkey island

    -Visit to a caiman lagoon

    -Making chicha (traditional drink) and playing with traditional weapons (blowgun)

    We will make our way to the Punta sector, where we will have lunch.

    5:00pm Travel back to Tena by private car.
